From my experience and the stock knowledge I’ve obtained, I have learned that the owning too big of a stock investment portfolio effects your performance for two reasons. 1) Because you need to continuously do your homework with stocks you own, owning many stocks can deter you from doing quality homework which can end up hurting your portfolio. 2) Some sectors are hot during the year and some aren’t. I like to stay with the sectors that are growing fast.
