The action scenes in the Transformers DVD movie mark the highlight of the 2007 summer blockbuster season. Bay is fortunate in having LaBeouf as his lead actor, for it is Shia LaBeouf’s non-threatening All-American Boy looks and innocence that give the movie the emotional grounding it needs to be more than just the lumbering mechanical creation it could easily have become without him.
